Generally speaking there are two pieces of information that are regarded as public information. These are a person's name and a person's phone number, where that phone number is not listed as silent and is available in a telephone directory. All other information as relates to an individual is generally considered private and includes details such as:

  • Dates of birth
  • Personal addresses
  • Personal Email addresses
  • Credit Card numbers
  • Login information

Clients should consider an SSL certificate as a vital part of their site infrastructure if they are going to allow their users to submit private information via their web site.

Clients can purchase various options of SSL certificates from Livestate, from low cost entry level certificates to expensive robust and highly trusted certificates. Livestate offers a complete SSL Certificate Service which includes the purchase of SSL Certificates and the installation of those certificates on your hosting plan.

Clients should note that SSL certificates need to be installed on dedicated IP addresses. If your current hosting arrangement with Livestate is provided from our shared IP addresses, you will need to upgrade to a dedicated IP address per domain before you can install the certificate. As SSL certificates are bound to a domain name all SSL secured websites require their own dedicated IP. Clients who have purchased hosting solutions under the Excel Tier will have had a Dedicated IP allocated to their hosting plan on setup. For the Exist and Expose Tiers, clients will need to contact Livestate via their Client Portal and request or purchase a dedicated IP.
