If you already have a domain name with another host and would like to transfer your domain to Livestate, then you can select the option to transfer while ordering a web hosting package or you can transfer a domain name as a standalone product.
When you transfer a domain to the Livestate network you will generally be required to pay a transfer fee. This fee is equivalent to or less than a standard registration fee and will automatically increase the expiration date of your domain name by 1 year. So you can consider transferring a domain name as also an extension of the registration period that you have on that domain.
We understand that transferring a domain name may be a daunting process, so please feel free to contact us if you would like assistance with the transfer or have concerns about the transfer process.
Depending on the nature of the transfer will determine the stages that should be undertaken to ensure the transfer process is seamless. Are you simply transferring a domain to be parked on the Livestate network, or are you also establishing a hosting account with Livestate that will be associated with this domain as well?
If you are simply transferring a domain to be parked on the Livestate network, then the process has no major implications but will take up to 7 days to complete.
Alternatively if you are establishing a hosting account as well, or transferring a hosting account from another host provider to Livestate, then it is vital that specific processes are done in order to ensure no downtime of your website.
